About Us
Meet Eva

I’m a Hungarian-American born in Romania, where I grew up speaking multiple languages. As a child, I dreamed of becoming an early childhood educator, though my career path initially took me in a different direction, and I completed a degree in Political Science. In 2020, I began working as a substitute teacher at my daughter’s preschool, which reignited my passion for early childhood education and inspired me to bring a similar opportunity to children in Woodland Park.

I strongly believe in the importance of outdoor play for young children, as it supports learning within a structured curriculum. My program gives children the chance to spend 2-3 hours each day engaged in outdoor activities, exploring and learning in a natural setting. Our small class sizes ensure that every child receives personalized attention in a safe, nurturing environment. I love celebrating each child’s unique qualities and creating days that are filled with joy and discovery.

Play-based Learning
PLAY IS THE WORK OF CHILDREN
Learning while playing and through play. We believe that nothing is more important in this early childhood age than letting them be creative and explore their own interests. Creativity is a big part of what makes you intelligent. They are learning how to get along with their friends, how to work together, how to plan together and how to deal with their emotions. Your success as an adult, but the amount of play you have in your early childhood.
Play is self-chosen and self-directed; this is how children develop their passion. Play is structured by the children; play is imagination. Children learn so much through play that they can't think of any other way, and it also makes them happy.
They are naturally curious and they are wired to do things that will help them learn.

Outdoor Preschool
THE #1 RANKED PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM
At Little Sprouts Preschool outdoors isn’t just for recess. In fact, the outdoors is mostly our school. The idea is simple: Use the nature as a backdrop for a solid, hands-on education and a sorely needed way to help a new generation connect with the real world.
Typically we spend sunshine-splashed hours wielding a magnifying glass in search of species of insects, from which we turn into lessons about habitats and life cycles. We use binoculars to spot birds, then eat lunch picnic-style in the backyard.
We have a whole outdoor classroom with an Indestructible library, manipulatives, and blocks, we use a sand table with very fine sand, big sand box and water table for sensory play.
Gardening is a big part of our daily activities, we plant seeds indoors when is still snow outside, we harvest at the end of the season together, compost, and cook together. Talk about nutrition and food prep.
Outdoor preschools have roots that reach back to 1950s Scandinavia, but the movement has gained momentum and urgency in the past decade as the digital world has a big effect on kids.
According to early childhood studies when students take an active part of spending time in nature, they are able to better concentrate, they're less stressed, and they are more engaged.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Janet Vaudt
I was thrilled when I learned about Little Sprouts Preschool! My (at the time) 4 year old was enrolled in the public school preschool and I felt he was getting lost among all the other children and wasn’t thriving or enjoying being there. Once I enrolled him into Little Sprouts, his learning, creativity and confidence exploded! He looked forward to going every morning, and it was hard to pull him away when it was time to go.

Omgosh!!! Eva is a gem here in Teller County! Teaching kids through play in the OUTDOORS & she has the best welcoming personality. Our daughter was there for a year and thrived. She started out a little shy and Eva held space for her to gain confidence. Look no further if she even has a spot available:)
